About Villa Flying Dragon ...
Enjoy fabulous views of Lake Annecy and the mountains from the terraces and balconies of this stunning contemporary villa just outside the lakeside village of Talloires.
The pretty village has easy access to the Aravis mountains as well as a lovely beach area, restaurants, bars and a cinema, and there is a good supermarket and shops in Menthon St Bernard, which is 3km away. The village also has a small port.
It will take you just over half an hour to drive to the ski stations of La Clusaz and La Croix Fry. The villa has been newly furnished and offers spacious and very comfortable accommodation for eight people.
The property ...
Newly furnished for OVO Network guests, Villa Flying Dragon sleeps eight people in four double bedrooms, one of which is on the ground floor.
Two of the rooms have large double beds and open on to a shared sunny balcony, while the others have twin beds, which can be linked to make doubles. All of the beds are of good quality, with extra deep mattresses to ensure you get a good night’s sleep.
There is a shower room on the ground floor, a bathroom on the first floor and another shower room on the lower ground floor, where you will also find the sauna and utility room. There are also separate toilets on the ground and first floors.
The main living area is light and airy with doors on to a covered balcony. There is a well-equipped kitchen, a dining table which seats eight, and a relaxing sitting area with a large sofa and a wall-hung television.
There is a second room with a smaller kitchen, a sofa and a dining table for four, making this an ideal property for groups of friends. There are two more terraces off this area, offering different but just as stunning views of the lake and mountains.
Villa Flying Dragon is set in beautiful landscaped gardens, the highlight of which is the delightful raised terrace - picture yourself lying in the hammock watch the paragliders come in to land, or enjoying a barbecue around the swimming pool.
There is parking below the house and entrance is through electronic gates.
About the area ...
It would be hard to find a better location than Villa Flying Dragon for a summer holiday exploring the French Alps.
Swim in the crystal-clear Lake Annecy from the beautiful beach area in Talloires, just minutes from your front door, or try watersports such as water-skiing, kayaking, or stand-up paddleboarding. A cycle path runs almost all of the way around the lake and there's plenty of hiking around Annecy, or you could hire a boat and visit one of the many waterside restaurants.
For a change of scene, head for the mountains. There’s a huge range of activities to be found in La Clusaz, Le Grand Bornand and Manigod (climbing, hiking, mountain-biking and paragliding to name just a few!).
There are several superb golf courses nearby, such as the Golf Club du Lac d’Annecy in Talloires, and the stunning Chateau de Menthon-Saint-Bernard, less than five minutes' drive away, is definitely worth a visit.
From Talloires it's just an 11km scenic drive to the beautiful town of Annecy. As well as produce and antique markets, annual highlights include the Venetian carnival in February, the animated film festival in June and the Lake festival in August.
If you would rather relax back at the villa you won’t be short of things to do - enjoy the Japanese-style terraced garden, relax in the hammock by the pool or enjoy the sauna before a barbecue on the terrace while you enjoy the stunning views of the Lake Annecy area.
If you'd like to make the most of the wonderful countryside around Villa Flying Dragon, check your holiday dates against our availability calendar. If you need a little time to decide, we can hold your dates for you for 24 hours. But don't wait any longer - we'd hate you to miss out on this stunning holiday.

The OVO Network Review
“You can be sure of a perfect holiday between the lake and the mountains”
Stylishly refurbished by the new owners, Villa Flying Dragon, a stunning 180m2 villa for 8 in Talloires, has two very different yet equally magnificent views of Lake Annecy. With its outdoor living space comprising of pool, terraces, balconies, dining area, lounge area, and established landscaped gardens, the Villa is a superb location in the summer. You can even watch paragliders coming in to land at the nearby landing zone from the comfort of the hammock on the terrace!
Indoors the spaces are flooded with daylight, thanks to the many floor to ceiling windows. In fact our overriding impression from visiting the villa is of the amount of blue visible in the natural green landscape, provided by the sky, the lake, and the pool. Originally the villa housed an apartment and a main house, so there are two kitchens, two dining spaces, two living spaces, with 4 bedrooms and a sauna for 2 downstairs. There are two bathrooms at the property, and an extra shower in the sauna area, plus three toilets.
There is plenty of storage space throughout the Villa, including room to store bikes, ski kit, paddle boards etc in the long double garage.
Location wise the property is within 600m of quite a challenging steep and winding road section of the dedicated cycle path around lake Annecy, 2.5 km from the beach at Talloires, and 3.5 km from the beach at Menthon Saint Bernard. The medieval old town of Annecy is 11.5km away - choose your journey time, traffic builds up when the beaches empty at the end of the day.
A car is needed for a stay at Flying Dragon, and as the property is split across three levels it is perhaps not ideal for those with limited mobility (although if guests can walk up the gentle slope from the parking to the front door then there is a double bedroom, bathroom, 2 lounges and 2 dining areas, 2 kitchens and access to the main outdoor terrace from this level).

From the Owner
After searching 10 years with hundreds of house visits, we decided to buy the villa at the first sight...
“You just cannot resist this place – the lake, the mountains, the sky, the trees, the rocks, the blue, green, white… the great people around, the food and drinks - and the view!
Once you have seen the view of Lake Annecy, you will fall in love with the region and you will get addicted to this. Like we did.
Over the last 15 years, we have lived and worked in three continents: Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Taipei, Singapore, San Francisco, Denver, Philadelphia, Tunisia, Paris… not to mention all the countries we visited. But every year there’s always one place we want to return to - Lake Annecy.
In summer, you can go hiking, swimming, rock climbing, trekking, biking, jogging, golf, and all the mountain activities; in winter, you can go to all the different ski resorts in the area and still enjoy the sunset on the horizon and the view of the lake and mountains.
After a 10-year search and hundreds of house visits, we found this villa – we call it Villa Flying Dragon! We decided to buy it the moment we set our eyes on it. Knowing this region well, we are still astonished by the view and the brightness of the villa. We call it Flying Dragon for many reasons: the sky is so blue that you feel all the gravity slipping from your life while you are enjoying the view from our deck. Meanwhile, you will see many paragliders flying around you enjoying their moment of free air. We brainstormed many names, the lake, the view, the rock, the four seasons, the fun zone, the cosiness, the happy hour…. Then we realised that none of these expressed how great we felt about our villa. Thus – Villa Flying Dragon it is.
There are two parts of this villa – one main area with a big open kitchen and a bright living room on the first floor and the second floor has three cosy rooms. On the other side, there’s an individual one bedroom apartment with a kitchen, living room and shower/toilet. We think this could be great for a group of friends and families spending a week together, but who also wish to have some independent space. You could enjoy the outdoor swimming pool with Bali-style dinning table. Our pool-side sofa area (the lavender zone) is the best place to watch the sunset over the lake. If the weather is nice, feel free to relax in the hammock and count shooting stars under the summer sky.
The location is perfect. You are not far from the town but very close to nature. You can ski in winter and swim in summer – all within 10-30 minutes drive. If you are inspired by stories in Peter Mayle’s “A year in Provence”, and dream about the French country lifestyle, food and drinks and a nice neighborhood, enjoy all the earthy pleasure of French country life and would like to live vicariously at a tempo governed by weeks, not by the day – come and experience Lake of Annecy!
Lake and mountain – no need to compromise! 270 degree view with four season activities….
We hope you enjoy this like we do!
Silvia and Philippe
“Fantastic house. ”
Exactly as you can see it in the photos. We stayed here for a week with our family and some friends and it really was a joy. We’ll be staying again.

Very clean property, very well equipped, and in every point similar to its website description. Very helpful manager (unlike some other local "concierge" companies).

“Thank you so much for having us at Villa Flying Dragon!”
Stunning house in a beautiful location. Hope to return very soon!

“A magnificent stay in this dream villa”
A superb family holiday at Flying Dragon villa. The house is magnificent, as is the setting and the view. Very well equipped and a perfect welcome. We hope to come back.

“Like a dream !”
Waking up in this house is like waking up in a dream... We had an amazing week in this cosy, warm and fabulous setting ! We enjoyed the snow in La Clusaz, long walks around the lake, visiting Annecy... If we regret one thing, it is that we couldn't stay any longer ! We'd love to come back one day. Many thanks to Valérie the manager for her great service.
Patrick M. - 22/12/2018
We have had a fantastic holiday in this beautiful villa. We loved the pool and the spectacular views.
We also enjoyed : the beach at Talloires, visiting Annecy, great cycling and the highlight - parascending! The villa was very comfortable, spacious and stylishly equipped, and we were made very welcome by Valerie.
Things we liked in the area : cycler's paradise, amazing scenery, good restaurants, beautiful towns, and nice beaches.

“We had an extraordinary holiday. ”
The view over the mountains and the lake was magnificent. The villa is very pretty, I highly recommend this place which is just as it looks on the website.

“A top holiday!”
We had some wonderful times in your magnificent villa with a unique panoramic view of Lake Annecy. Everything was perfect: the finish, equipment, comfort, top-of-the-range bedding and the snowy mountains all around. A big thank you to Valerie for her helpfulness.
Dominique L. - 27/01/2018
“Very good memories”
We celebrated Christmas with the family at this chalet.
We'll have great memories of this place: the house is very well designed, and the view is breathtaking.
The scenery is changing all the time, it's just magic!
We instantly felt at home in this house, which has a cosy atmosphere and beds worthy of a luxury hotel. The house provides everything you need.
There are plenty of activities in the area, so many things to do that we couldn't fit them all in.
Many thanks to the manager who took the time to decorate a lovely Christmas tree, knowing that we were coming with our kids.
Noelle C. - 23/12/2017
We had a fantastic holiday.
We loved the villa, especially the pool; and we'll miss the view !
We recommend a visit to "Tweedle Tea" a bakery/tea room in Menthon St Bernard - fantastic cakes. And a trip to La Clusaz, towards to Lac des Confins is worth it, for some more amazing mountain views !
Caroline T. - 12/08/2017
We had a fabulous time in Annecy.
Beautiful house with the most stunning views.
The lake at Talloires is perfect and we had great fun for all the family.
Martin C. - 29/07/2017
“A villa to enjoy 100%”
A spectacular villa in a quiet area on the side of a hill, with an impressive view. Fully equipped, big beds and a large well-designed kitchen ... everything we needed. The hot tub is a great place to relax. We spent lovely days in the swimming pool watching the paragliders in the sky. The views from the terrace and the swimming pool are spectacular, you can't see the neighbours - it's a peace and quiet that enables you to totally disconnect. It's an ideal base for visiting Switzerland, Annecy, Chamonix and Lake Geneva, which are all fairly close.
Josep P. - 03/09/2016
“An excellent week at Flying Dragon Villa”
The setting, the view ... everything was perfect. The villa is tastefully decorated - the soft furnishings, the bedding and equipment are all top quality. In a very hot week we also enjoyed the terrace and the swimming pool, where the water, even though it wasn't heated, was 24°C. So it was a lovely holiday and we will hold on to the details in case we come back to the beautiful area.

Why Annecy / Lake Annecy?
Undoubtedly one of France’s most beautiful cities, Annecy sits on the shores of Lake Annecy with its stunning mountain backdrop. Known as the ‘Venice of the Alps’, ancient buildings line the canals and house boutique shops, wonderful restaurants and a multitude of ice cream parlours. Add to this a wealth of history and culture, plus beaches, watersports and world-class ski resorts, and you’ll want to return to Annecy year after year.
